ELISA Project

For this project we had to create a animation about an ELISA Test.
What is an ELISA Test?
A ELISA Test is a test to check if you are infected with a virus. This works by using antibodies. Antibodies are what identify and neutralize foreign objects like bacteria and viruses. By doing so an unknown amount of antigen is on top of the surface, and then a specific antibody is applied over the surface so that it can bind to the antigen. Then the current antibody is then connected to an enzyme. Finally by adding a chemical or substance to the enzyme there would  most likely be a significant colour change in the enzyme Meaning antibodies are present you are likely to be infected. In the end if the enzyme tests positive your infected with a virus.

My project
I did not finish my project because i needed more time on it. But i was gonna create
a animation of a character with a script in which you can control with the arrow keys. The plot
was that while the character is walking down the street it gets infected with a virus from
a old lady that sneezes on the characters face. When he is infected another character was
gonna preform an ELISA test.

Transformation Lab Animation

In this animation I was told to make a animation on how to add florescent proteins(DNA) into bacteria.
We stared out with (DNA) in one tube (+) and added it to plate with bacteria. In the other tube (-) there was no DNA.We used Transformation to add the protein into the bacteria so it shows up as a color which was LB/Amp(+).We used AMP in all the tubes for the killing of bacteria.
We added bacteria in another plate which in the end of the results we got a plate full of bacteria with was LB/NoAmp(-). In the last plate we added bacteria to the plate with  LB/Amp(-) Which killed all of the bacteria on the plate. In the end we got bacteria glowing on the (+) plate and in the other plates we had bacteria all over the plate LB/NoAmp(-).the last plate had no bacteria because of the AMP.

Prototype for UI of SciAnim2

This is my prototype for UI of SciAnim2, I was doing my best to use Interface on my project.
This scene is called Streaking the bacteria, each scene will have a different animation. This specific image
is from scene four of the science animation two project. In this scene you would learn how to streak the
bacteria on a petri-Dish.The text would show you how.

Navigation
I used a simple navigation system as you can see it at the bottom right hand corner of this scene.
  • The first button would be the Back button, this button allows you to go back to a previous scene when clicked.
  • The next button would be the Play button, this button allows you to play the animation when clicked.
  • The final button would be the Forward button, this button allows you go forward to the next scene when clicked.
For this design I tried to incorporate the following:
  • Organization -I used this because i wanted to keep everything in a specific place like my text on the right side my animation on the left my navigation on the bottom and my title on the top.
  • Simple Navigation- I used a simple navigation system so it would not be so complicated to get around.
Visibility -I used this because it would make it easier to read the text clearly  with out any struggle.

My first time blogging

Hello and welcome, I am DGutierrez I'm a sophomore in High school an a student at Castle Park High School.I'm a student in a great academy called Science Innovation Academy, short for S.I.A.I am part of three classes that i take with my other S.I.A friends.English is one Biotech is also one and Multimedia.I will be using this blog for my STAR(Science,Technology,And Research) classroom.I am participating in S.I.A because I really like Science over all, i have always like it since i was kid.
